Planting trees is great for nature recovery and a fun way to get involved in the project. More opportunities to do this would help people contribute to stewardship.

A very accessible practical conservation day to involve the public in especially as tree planting has a 90% success rate in establishment. Teaching volunteers how to plant small saplings using a T cut technique is easy to do and hard to go wrong. People involved will feel a sense of pride and ownership thus eliciting a sense to project and raise greater awareness for the environment they have taken part in creating. It would be very popular.
